Drips Description: We are seeking a registered nurse for a PCU
position. The nurse will primarily care for patients with CVAs,
hydrocephalus, brain tumors, seizures, and TBIs. Responsibilities
may include care coordination and charge nurse duties, as needed.
Candidates must be flexible with weekend requirements and able to
work 50% of the weekends in their contract. Refusal to float may
end in termination of the contract. Travel nurses may be required
to precept and/or have students shadow them. Previous charge
experience is required. Candidates should possess skills in
telemetry and have experience with conscious sedation. Candidates
must be able to float to different levels of care with proper
resources provided. Floating may occur within the hospital or to
nearby affiliate hospitals. Staffing ratios are generally 1:3-4,
with rare instances of 5 during emergencies. Candidates must manage
arterial lines, blood product administration, and ventilated
patients. Skill requirements include central line care, chest tube
management, and spinal cord injury care. Candidates with experience
in trauma care will be preferred. Candidates must provide two
supervisor references. This position requires a commitment to
