Counselor/Senior Admissions Counselor JOB SUMMARY: The Art Academy
of Cincinnati is currently seeking an Admissions Counselor to
assist the Admissions Office to recruit and enroll applicants for
admission to the College. Responsibilities include travel in an
assigned travel area to attend high school visits and college
fairs, phone calls, written correspondence, and portfolio reviews.
Candidate will provide positive, efficient and effective
communications with prospects and their parents, secondary school
officials, and alumni through the admissions and enrollment process
including tracking application materials, s, assisting with special
events, and performing general office duties. RESPONSIBILITIE S:
Recruit, attract and select a qualified and diverse undergraduate
and graduate student that meets AAC’s enrollment and academic
needs. Correspond with prospective students, applicants, secondary
school officials, and others seeking information on admissions to
the College. Serve as a primary contact for prospective students
and families through in-person, phone, text, and email
communications. Conduct admissions counseling and outreach,
including application assistance, portfolio reviews, and academic
evaluations. Register, schedule, coordinate, attend and make
presentations at on-campus and off-campus recruitment events within
assigned territories, campus meetings, events and/or conferences.
Review and determine the admissibility of applicants based on
academic credentials and creative portfolios on campus and while
traveling, and within the requirements of AAC workflows and
timelines. Maintain accurate records and follow-up communications
within the College’s Customer Relation Management (CRM) and data
systems. Interview and counsel prospective students and families
about college planning, admissions, academic programs,
extracurricular programs, and student life at AAC. . Provide
introductory guidance on financial aid options, processes, and
deadlines; assist families in understanding their financial aid
award letters. Develop effective relationships with high school and
college personnel, alumni, and community members in positions to
influence youth with their college decision. Contribute to the
development of Admission policy and procedures. Participates with
special programs and research projects as related to enrollment
strategies including planning and coordinating special recruitment
strategies and programs, both on and off campus, for prospects,
their families, personnel of secondary schools and community
leaders. Provide Office of Admissions tours for visitors Ability
and willingness to work evenings and weekends. Understand the
college mission; implement and abide by the college policy.
Maintain effective interpersonal and departmental communication.
Exhibit skills and attitudes that reflect good customer service.
Assist in the training of tour guides and student employees when
necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Senior
Admissions Counselor: Participates and drives special programs and
research projects as related to enrollment strategies (examples
include: alumni engagement to support enrollment goals, new
territory research, counselor coordination support, CRM research
and workflows, digital community maintenance, Spring first-year
recruitment, and/or transfer students, international students,
students returning from leave of absence). Senior Admissions
Counselor : Mentors Admissions Counselors to be strong territory
managers and works closely with the Associate Director of
Admissions and Executive Director of Enrollment to plan continuing
education for Admissions staff. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Extensive domestic travel, valid
driver’s license, and reliable transportation are required. Art /
Design and/or Creative Writing background and/or knowledge is
required. Collegiate level art and design experience encouraged.
Experience in college admissions, financial aid, or student
services preferred. Demonstrated ability or strong interest in
sales, marketing, or customer service. Experience working directly
with youth and families. Strong verbal and written communication
skills. Strong organizational skills, and ability to think
creatively and strategically. Familiarity with CRM systems and
digital record-keeping (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, etc.). Proficient
in Microsoft Office Suite. Collaborative and accountable mindset
with an interest in working within a dynamic team environment with
staff and faculty colleagues. Knowledge of and strong skills in the
use of technological tools and systems used to support and deliver
admission programs and services to prospective and current students
Minimum technology requirements including ability to do word
processing, send and receive electronic mail and attachments,
access and download information from the Web to print or create
files, create and use spreadsheets (Excel), create digital
presentations. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Ability to work remotely as needed. Understanding and commitment to
AAC’s Vision, Mission, and Values. Senior Admissions Counselor: 1-2
years of experience in undergraduate admissions, including
