Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) Organization, part of Corporate
Engineering and Global HSE, delivers new and renovated capital
assets around the world. Our mission is accomplished through a
highly leveraged organization of design, construction, and CQV
contractors. Assets are delivered focusing on medical innovation
and delivering innovative solutions to patients with Safety First
and Quality Always. Some of the assets delivered will support an
expansion in supply of existing or new medicines for our patients
or making the supply chain more robust. Description: This position
will report directly to the Sr. Director of HSE – GFD and will be
responsible to provide oversight to the contractor safety program
across all major capital projects under the responsibility of the
GFD organization. This role will work with Project Managers across
the assigned projects of responsibility to ensure the Contractor
Safety Playbook is fully implemented. The role will work with GHSE
and Site HSE Teams to provide oversight and ensure we create a best
in class safety culture and contractor safety management.
Responsibilities: Provide contractor safety oversight to major
capital projects working with contractors, project managers and
site HSE leaders to ensure a strong safety culture and compliance
is implemented and sustained in every project from the beginning.
Work together with project managers to ensure the Contractor Safety
Playbook is fully implemented in every major capital project.
Monitor contractor safety performance across assigned projects and
contractors to identify potential trends and actions to address
risks. Work together with GHSE and/or external partners to
periodically audit major capital projects to confirm compliance.
Spend time on the ground assessing compliance with contractor
safety programs Support the evaluation of contractors to be used on
every project and provide feedback as needed on their safety
performance Ensure a strong contractor safety induction program is
in place in every major capital project Escalate safety issues as
needed and ensure learning are communicated and actions implemented
across the whole portfolio Determine when additional oversight is
needed based on observed trends and work with GHSE and Site HSE
Teams to delineate a plan to provide a higher level of oversight if
needed. Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related
field. Significant relevant work experience in large capital
project delivery can be considered in parallel with a non-technical
degree. At least 10 years of experience within manufacturing, large
capital projects or HSE organizations Strong understanding of
safety programs and a strong compliance mindset Strong ability to
communicate across all levels of the organization Excellent
organizational skills Ability to travel (> 40% of time) Lilly is

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $151,500 -
$222,200 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
