Job Description:Fidelity's Workplace Services is seeking to hire a data engineer to join their customer data protection & disposal team. -This individual should be an independent self-starter who will partners as a key member of the data protection squad. This associate will work to ensure that the customer protection efforts are delivered on time and with quality. This role will leverage a variety of technologies and will need to communicate with various teams within Fidelity. Knowledge of customer data protection laws such as CPRA and GDPR are desired as is familiarity with ISO standards. Knowledge of BigID, Collibra, Alation or other data categorization/catalog/glossary tools is strongly preferred.This data engineer role would ideally have a technology background, strong communication skills, and the ability to network across functions, agile product domains and other business units/functions. The data protection space requires a broad understanding of both legacy and cloud solutions. The ideal candidate is comfortable with data analysis and has a desire to dig in and solve puzzles with an agile mindset. -Knowledge of financial services terminology is preferred. - But, not a requirement. - - -The TeamThe Workplace Services vision is to ensure that data is protected and managed throughout its lifecycle so that we protect our customers, improve reliability, and minimize our data footprint.This team is committed to the the use of data governance tools, reporting and data protection applications, which will ensure that our data disclosure processes are scalable, efficient, and complete.The data engineer role will support these critical efforts by helping to drive our focus by establishing the integration between our disclosure technologies and any of our impacted systems. Additionally, they will partner will key data analysts on the creation of reporting needs and the standardization of data classifications.The Expertise You Have

  • Demonstrated ability in one or more of the following disciplines: data protection, cyber security, data governance, data management, Database Administration, data warehousing, software engineering, data project management
  • Excellent experience building JBDC connections within a SaaS data management solution including connections to both on premise and cloud host applications
  • Experience working in an Agile development structure (Work breakdown, sprint goals, MVP concepts, etc.)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as MS Power BI, Tableau, or other similar applications
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira, SharePoint preferred
  • BS/BA degree preferredThe Skills You Bring
