We work hard to create a sense of community for our patients and residents.POSITION SUMMARY:Full Time - Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pmThe purpose of this position is to assist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing of a meaningful activity programs in compliance with current federal, state and local standards and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform essential functions satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation; including, but not limited to: -

• Coordinate group and individual activities for the benefit of patients, with emphasis on their interests and needs
• Work with volunteers, families, community agencies, etc. Fundraisers may also be planned
• Access and evaluate residents' individual preferences, plan meaningful activities accordingly
• Establish and maintain community involvement and create a home-like atmosphere for patients
• Organize, develop, implement and distribute newsletter and news articles for local newspapers
• Perform emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Assist with the admitting, transferring and discharging of patients
• Develop, maintain and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the functions of the Activities Department
• Review and revise activity care plans on a regular basis within the guidelines of state and federal regulations and facility policyOther Requirements:
  • Position may require unscheduled overtime, week-end work
