thrive.BASIC PURPOSE: Prepares patients and assists Neurologist in
all technical aspects of EEG testing. Performs EEG as needed by the
department/facility. Assists with EEG reporting processing and all
department functions.Prepares patients for EEG test; obtains
patient history and any contraindications, explains testing
techniques, applies electrodes; performs EEG testing as needed by
department and facility; maintains safety and infection control
measuresCoordinates and prepares EEG for interpretation by
neurologist; communicates with neurologist on all aspects of
testing and references requiredAttends departmental and quality
assurance meetings according to departmental needs; maintains
accurate departmental records and files for EEG; assists in
departmental performance improvement efforts; maintains clinical
competencies and credentials and participates in accreditation
efforts as required by governing bodiesServes as a preceptor to new
employeesPrepares completed studies for physician interpretation;
performs 24 hour ambulatory EEG studies as requested by the
physician and prepares completed studies for scanning and physician
interpretationMINIMUM EDUCATIONRequired Minimum Education:High
School Diploma/or GEDPreferred Education: 2 year/Associate
DegreeSpecialty/Major: Allied HealthLICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must
be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):Required: BLS
certification by end of orientation period.Preferred: CME or ASET
