  • And much more Position Summary: The Med/Surg unit provides direct patient care to critically ill adult patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments.
    • Assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs
    • Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients
    • Develops individual nursing care plans
    • Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed
    • Evaluates patient care outcomes
    • Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees
    • Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
    • Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
    • Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
    • Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given. Minimum Qualifications: Education:
      • Associate's degree required
      • Bachelor's degree preferred Certifications:
        • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire License:
