Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Anderson, IN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,930 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Anderson, Indiana, 46016! Job Title: RN ICU Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00 PM - 06:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Experience in critical care nursing Description: The Medical ICU is a 20-bed mixed ICU/Step Down unit. Staffing ratios include 2:1 for ICU patients and 3:1 for Step Down patients. Floating to the sister unit is required for Step Down patients at a ratio of 1:3 or for progressive level patients at a ratio of 4:1. Patient population includes those with severe respiratory failure, such as pneumonia, ARDS, COPD, or asthma exacerbations, often requiring mechanical ventilation or high-flow oxygen support. Patients experiencing sepsis and septic shock frequently require vasopressors, invasive monitoring, and aggressive fluid management. The unit also manages patients with hemodynamic instability, including hypotension, arrhythmias, or shock states. Neurologic conditions, such as altered mental status, metabolic encephalopathy, overdose, or stroke (non-surgical), are also treated. Complex metabolic and endocrine disorders, such as diabetic ketoacidosis, severe electrolyte abnormalities, or liver failure, are part of the patient population. Cardiac conditions not requiring immediate intervention, including heart failure exacerbations, cardiomyopathy, or post-cardiac arrest care, are managed. Additionally, gastrointestinal and hepatic failures, including GI bleeding, acute liver failure, or pancreatitis, are addressed in this unit. Typical patient needs include continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring. Skills in managing invasive lines, such as arterial lines, are required. Nursing staff will administer NIH and TNK therapy. Experience with mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, or advanced oxygen therapies is necessary. Titrated IV medications, including vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, and antiarrhythmics, will be part of the care provided. Nurses must also be adept at managing enteral or parenteral nutrition.
