Job Description:

As a senior database developer, you will contribute directly to application and business teams as a member of a cross-functional development team, as well as integrating into the data team center of excellence. You will work alongside your development and data team members to support development, data inquiries, troubleshooting, release, and data analysis. You will be responsible for producing stable, scalable, high quality database features that support the application code for the team's applications and services as well as collaborate with and mentor team members on best practices and data standards. You will help provide direction and support of new database technologies and methodologies to ensure project success.Responsibilities: Assist development teams in the build out of stable, reliable, and effective schema and database technologies. This includes transactional and analytical database efforts as required by the business Review and optimize application data access strategies Enforce database quality standards within the code base Support and build out development, QA, training, and production environments Build and maintain reporting and analytical pipelines using on premise and cloud tools Mentor developers and product owners on database patterns Prepare and review scripts for deployment and automation Create, implement, and maintain policies and procedures regarding data security/access, retention/destruction, HA/DR, and governance Monitor hardware, software, storage, and performance of database servers Tune and configure database servers for best sustainable performance Support architecture team in long-term planning and implementation Support after-hours and on-call duties as required Support operations and support teams and assist with troubleshooting activities as needed Continue to develop your skills in database optimization, data integrity, and other DBA duties, including task estimation and data modeling as a member of an agile software team Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field 5 years of experience in database development with strong working knowledge of the Microsoft data platform, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Data Factory, Azure SQL and Power BI Knowledge of data management standards, practices, and procedures Experience with data modeling, performance tuning, and product release/delivery Strong knowledge of T-SQL programming language and platform tools The ability visualize the big picture, analyze key issues and recommend pragmatic, effective solutions with an eye on the enterprise The ability to work well in an agile team environment where processes and schedules can change quickly Have hands on skills and are able to iterate on ideas and collaborate with team members to solve problems and develop solutions Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage peers to get the information you need and escalate effectively Proficiency with database design fundamentals related to Commerce, CRM, and Inventory Systems preferred Experience with non-relational and non-Microsoft database systems a plus Knowledge of C# and .Net programming a plus Knowledge of Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and business analytics methodologies and tools preferred Experience with automation of testing and deployment using industry tools and languages a plus Benefit package: Affordable medical, dental & vision coverage for full-time employees 401(k) match Employee wireless rate plan Paid time off (PTO) Flexible spending accounts (FSA) Employee rewards program Group life and AD benefits Education reimbursement Long-term disability Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands in the work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
