Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:At Synchrony, a software
engineer internship allows you to gain experience while you are
still pursuing your degree. Your responsibilities as an intern
include learning how to code, test and document changes for
enhancements and new functionality of software programs, being part
of agile team, and helping to implement strategic ideas through
innovative solutions. Your other duties as a software engineer
intern include learning the overall technology landscape and
understanding the processes and methodologies that we have in place
at Synchrony for implementing and managing enterprise level
solutions.This position is remote, where you have the option to
work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to
our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team
meetings, training and culture events. To ensure the safety of our
colleagues and communities, we require employees who come together

and flexibility.Essential Responsibilities :Research and help in
identifying solutions for complex technical challenges.Develop
solutions using cutting edge technologies and frameworks.Work on
Proof-of-Concepts to support challenging technical issues.Document
and demonstrate solutions by developing flowcharts, layouts,
diagrams etc.Support integration and system level testing.Perform
other duties and/or special projects as
assignedQualifications/Requirements:Working toward your bachelor's
level degree in Computer Science.Strong Computer Science
fundamentals in OOAD, design patterns, data structures, and
algorithmsGood understanding of Spring, JEE technologies, REST API
and UI technologies and frameworksAwareness of JavaScript front-end
frameworks like Angular and React.Awareness of microservice
architectural patterns and design.Exposure to agile
methodologies.Desired Characteristics:Strong desire to
learn.Critical thinking and creativityGood problem-solving skills
from a data, software, and technical standpoint.Good research,
writing and communication skills.Be able to work well in a team
environmentEligibility Requirements:You must be 18 years or
olderYou must have a high school diploma or equivalentYou must be
willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation
and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding processYou must
be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal
Deposit Insurance Act.New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of
continuous service with the company before they are eligible to
post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position
requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months'
time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.
Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time
in position before they can post. All internal employees must
consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from
your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you
don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).Legal
