Specialist position may be the perfect job for you! The Crisis
Intervention Specialist works directly with individuals and
families that are using The Ion Center for services surrounding
sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. It's an
opportunity to see first-hand the impact your passion has on your
community members and their families, and to ways to keep them
safe.In order to reach more people that are victims/survivors of
sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking, The Ion Center is
looking for an individual that speaks Spanish fluently. This is a
preference for the role and not a requirement.JOB SUMMARY: Under
the supervision of the Non-Residential Services Coordinator,
provides full range of crisis intervention and case management
services to primary and secondary survivors of crime, with a
special focus on victims of partner violence, sexual violence, and
stalking, assisting victims to work towards safety and
self-sufficiency.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESApplies
Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence (KCADV) Program Member
Service Standards and the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault
Programs (KASAP) Standards for survivors of rapeIntake and
Assessment.Maintain client confidentialityField crisis hotline
calls, texts, and chat.Assess and identify client needs.Provide and
connect clients with community resources.Assist clients with
completing agency paperwork.Aide clients in developing safety
plan.Counseling and Case ManagementProvide trauma informed
individual/ family and or group counseling.Educate survivors on
topic relevant to partner violence, sexual violence, and
stalking.Identifying client individual goals relevant to benefits,
childcare, education, budget, and housing needs.Transport clients
to meet goals.AdvocacyProvide support for clients as they navigate
the legal system, including accompanying clients to court, educate
on legal system, assisting clients on filing protection
orders.Support Ion Center in providing essential services to
victims, including hospital advocacy on call, hotline, and
emergency shelter.Collaborate with community partners, law
enforcement, medical staff, and social service agencies.Assist
clients with crime victim compensation.Communication, Teamwork, and
Administration DutiesMaintain client files and documentation.Attend
related meetings and trainings.Report stats for funders.Accept and
disseminate donations.Contribute to a clean, healthy, and trauma
informed work environment.Collaborate as a team across agency

etc.):Knowledge and skills at a level typically acquired through
obtaining a degree from an accredited college/university; or high
school diploma or equivalent and one to two years related
experience.Knowledge of Trauma Informed CareAbility to work under
highly stressful, crisis-oriented situationsAbility to handle
sensitive information and maintain high level of
confidentialityOutstanding empathetic and listening
skillsProfessional oral and written communication skillsAbility to
work independently and collaborate on a teamExcellent problem
solving and decision-making skillsComplete trainings for funding
requirements and knowledge buildingMust be minimum age of
18.MENTAL/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WHICH OCCUR REGULARLY IN PERFORMING
