Governance & Enablement is seeking a technical data custodian to
join their technology team.This individual should be an independent
self-starter who will become a key member of the data enablement
squad and who will work with data stewards and other key
stakeholders to cultivate and manage business metadata across
existing platforms; as well as, metadata moving into new cloud
based platforms. New cloud-based technologies will include but not
be limited to Snowflake and governance applications such as
Collibra and Alation.The technical custodian would ideally have a
business data and/or technology background, strong communication
skills, and the ability to network across functions, domains, and
potentially other business units. Technical custodians should be
inclined towards a data analyst or engineering experience and have
a desire to dig in and solve puzzles with an agile
mindset.Knowledge of financial services terminology is preferred
but is not a requirement. The TeamThe Workplace Services Data
Enablement team vision is to make using data easy, so associates
can focus on what they do best, creating great workplace products
and experiences for plan sponsors & participants.Through our
Alation data catalog platform and processes the squad is
transforming the way that WS manages metadata, and we focus on the
enterprise's adoption of data ownership, quality, policies,
controls, and transparency.The technical custodian will support
these critical efforts by helping to drive our focus on building
data governance policies, expanding the completeness and adoption
of the data catalog and reducing the risk associated with the
misuse of our client's data.The Expertise You Have (3
Years)Successful experience in one or more of the following
disciplines: data governance, data management, business analysis,
data modeling, data warehousing, data engineering, software
engineering, data architectureExcellent experience with the
authoring and execution of SQL and/or Python or other scripting
language.The ability to summarize or draw conclusions from data and
convey those conclusions in an efficient manner.Should be able to
monitor, determine root cause and fix issues as needed with minimal
supervisionKnowledgeable of how data supports the business
strategy, and how it is used within business processes to deliver
value to key stakeholdersExperience withData Catalogs, Business
Terms/Glossaries, Confluence, Jira, PowerBI, Snowflake
