Technicians maintain company assets by applying proper
repairs/procedures/PM's to Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, and
Packaging Machine Systems. While doing this they apply GMP and Food
Safe principles to ensure Safe, Quality product. Environment is a
Wash Down environment that is maintained at 35 deg F in which
technicians will work in. Technicians will also be on their feet
most of the shifts that they will work, doing Mentally and
Physically demanding work. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(Essential Functions) : Ensures operation of machinery and
mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance
requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and
production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations
manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and locates sources of
problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening
for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists,
cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of
parts. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by
inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and
other measuring instruments. Controls downtime by informing
production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques;
monitoring compliance. Conserves maintenance resources by using
equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Perform
highly diversified duties to install and maintain production
machines and the plant facility's equipment. Engineering
Specifications; Troubleshooting Malfunctions. Provide
emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during
production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production
equipment during machine service. Perform mechanic skills
including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic,
hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Read
and interpret equipment manuals, Schematics, work orders, PM's and
Scheduled Tasks to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make
adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines,
equipment and plant facilities. Use a variety of hand and power
tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in
performing duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material and
report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with
procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain department tooling per
OSHA, tooling must always be in proper order Check out parts
accordingly, create parts request accordingly. Work order entry per
requirements of the Department manager. Provides mechanical
maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;
reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and
communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
