your family. Come join our team! The Safety Compliance Specialist
supports compliance and training initiatives under the direct
supervision of the Safety Compliance Manager, while providing
dotted-line support to the Safety Training Manager for training
delivery, audits, and program execution. This role balances on-site
assessments with administrative reporting to ensure consistent
compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations. Specialists play a
crucial role in supporting accident and injury investigations,
verifying corrective actions, and conducting company-wide reviews
to promote safety excellence. Responsibilities of Position: Deliver
field training and support training initiatives under the guidance
of the Training & Compliance Manager Conduct audits, compliance
reviews, and regulatory investigations under the direction of the
Training & Compliance Manager Balance compliance and training
priorities at the direction of management Support accident and
injury investigations, including injury analysis and follow-up
actions Train reasonable suspicion and OSHA 10/30 classes to
corporate teams as well as new safety supervisors and managers
throughout the regions Lead corporate Safety Excellence Reviews and
contribute to corrective action planning Attend and facilitate
30/60/90-day corrective action review calls, ensuring timely
completion and verification of actions Lead New Hire Orientation
(NHO) Training audits and field support to safety supervisors under
the guidance of the Training and Compliance Manager Identify
opportunities for operational improvement during SERs and share
best practices across sites to standardize and elevate safety
performance Assist in developing, updating, and implementing
compliance-related policies and procedures Assist in developing and
updating training content for NHO, Monthly In-Services, periodic
campaigns, and Job Hazard Assessments Provide regulatory-related
data, audit results, and field support as needed Participate in
serious incident review calls and trend analysis sessions
Investigate and suggest Company corrective actions to the Corporate
Safety Training & Compliance Manager based on OSHA recordable and
DOT accident trends for targeted training and safety alerts File
MC-150 for each DOT number with the assistance of the Safety
Compliance Manager Prepare OSHA logs for approval and assist with
OSHA ITA reporting Responsible for backing up the TPR entry and
ELDT Trainee Tracking to gauge the success of the ELDT program
Attend and participate in local safety councils and OTA Meetings
Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility: This
position will not manage employees Skills & Abilities Needed for
Position: Must have ability to train others in a clear,
understandable, and professional manner Ability to build strong
working relationships, acting as daily ambassador, with site-level
teams to foster trust, accountability, and ownership of safe work
practices Must possess strong planning/organizational and time
management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills
to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with
internal and external customers and encourage engagement Knowledge
and understanding of the mechanical functions of commercial
vehicles and equipment Computer skills; working knowledge of
Windows applications, Microsoft applications, PowerBI, and Outlook
applications a plus Ability to operate a commercial vehicle in
accordance with DOT regulations/compliance Strong investigative
skills required Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position: 3 – 5
years of field safety, safety compliance, or auditing experience
Must have knowledge of DOT regulations and OSHA/industrial safety
compliance as they relate to the waste hauling industry Knowledge
of the waste industry and hauling operations is a plus Ability to
obtain and maintain OSHA and DOT certifications along with Smith
System Trainer certification Physical Requirements in a Regular
Workday: Rarely lifting/carrying a max of 100 lbs Occasionally
pushing/pulling a max of 35 lbs Rarely pushing/pulling a max of 100
lbs Frequently working outside Continuously working in changing
temperatures, wet/humid conditions Continuously working in areas of
dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter Occasionally
stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling Rarely climbing and/or
balancing Frequently sitting/standing/walking Additional Working
Conditions/Aspects: Must have at least a valid Class B CDL Must
have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire No
more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years Possible
exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
Exposure to residential and commercial waste Ability to travel
between offices, as required Ability to work flexible hours;
expected to work nights and weekends as needed Legally eligible to
work in the United States Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
Must successfully complete pre-employment testing Must be able to
read and speak the English language This job description is
