Job Description Job Title: NGS Specialist Worksite Address: 550 W 16th St Ste B Marion County, Indianapolis, IN 46202 Interview: Phone In-person Pay Rate: $31.14 Job Summary: The NGS Specialist will work in the Department of Health Laboratory (Advanced Molecular Detection Division). This role focuses on molecular biology testing, genomic sequencing, and high-complexity laboratory analysis. Key Responsibilities: • Perform nucleic acid extraction and molecular testing (PCR, MALDI-TOF, NGS) • Operate and maintain sequencing instruments (Illumina or PacBio preferred) • Develop, validate, and implement new molecular tests • Analyze, interpret, and report laboratory results • Perform quality control and maintain lab documentation • Ensure compliance with CLIA and laboratory safety standards • Troubleshoot sequencing assays and lab equipment Required Qualifications: • BA/BS in Biological Science or related field • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (Illumina or PacBio) • Strong knowledge of molecular biology and microbiology • Experience in high-complexity laboratory testing • Knowledge of CLIA regulations • Good communication and reporting skills Preferred: • 2 years of high-complexity lab experience • Experience providing oversight of daily lab testing Thanks & Regards
